Product Review Methods & Disclosures
Understand research-based product features, hands-on reviews, samples and commercial disclosures.
Research features
The launch product department contains research-based features using manufacturer specifications and practical editorial questions. The publication has not physically tested those products. We identify source links, avoid fabricated performance measurements and do not award invented ratings.
Hands-on reviews
A hands-on review must name the exact model, who evaluated it, when and under what conditions it was used, which animals or equipment were involved, observed results and limits. Health benefits require appropriate evidence beyond a marketing claim.
Product information and conclusions
Manufacturer specifications are attributed facts. Suitability discussions and buying priorities are editorial judgments. Prices appear only when verified for a stated market and date. Check the manufacturer for current availability, subscriptions, warranties and compatibility.
Samples, sponsorship and affiliate links
Each relevant article must disclose whether a sample was bought, gifted, loaned, returned or retained and who supplied it. Sponsored articles are visibly labeled. If we introduce affiliate links, the article must state near those links that purchases may earn the publication a commission. The launch articles do not contain affiliate tracking links.
Our disclosure approach is informed by the FTC’s endorsements and reviews guidance. A financial connection cannot buy a favorable independent assessment.
